A field blend of varietals. Produced in Portalegre to the north east of the Alentejo on the granite foothills of the São Mamede mountains, where cooler temperatures, along with many old vines, gives complexity and freshness.
“A field blend from old vines of grapes like Arinto, Gouveio and Cercial, aged in an 85/15 mixture of stainless steel and new oak (French and American) for five months. It comes in at 13.1% alcohol. The freshness of Minho is still here—these grapes are from Portalegre, one of the freshest parts of Alentejo. Nicely supported by its acidity, this has a touch of lemon and grapefruit but surprisingly fine concentration too. It becomes a bit rounder with air, its parts always integrated. In every incarnation, it is impressive, fresh and solid. It's a fine value too.” Mark Squires of Robert Parker, 90 points
