Beautiful topaz colour with complex volatile aromas of dried fruits, spices and nuts. The palate is elegant and intensely flavoured, with a long and persistent finish enhanced by lively acidity.
The nose of the 1995 Quinta dos Pesos Carcavelos is truly magnificent and complex. (…) It has a mahogany color with an amber rim and notes of chestnut honey, carob beans, orange blossom, brown sugar and marmalade with a spicy twist and hints of low tide and iron. The palate is sweet but balanced and fresh, with oxidative and honeyed flavors, not unlike an old Moscatel. 5,000 half-liter bottles were produced. It was bottled in November 2023. This is a wine that is practically nonexistent nowadays. Luis Gutierrez for Robert Parker 94 points.
